NORITSU EU notification regarding WEEE & RoHS
≪Corporate policy and compliance to the laws and regulations≫
Operating under the policy of continual preservation of the environment through the entire product life cycyle from product designing through manufacturing, usage and finally product disposal, NORITSU KOKI designs products that do not contain hazardous chemical substances, and designs recycle systems for products that have been used. Doing so also ensures our compliance to the European directives RoHS and WEEE.
WEEE directive
Official Name: Directive 2002/96/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 January 2003 on waste electrical and electronic equipment.
A directive enacted to reduce the amount of electrical and electronic equipment used, and to promote reusing and recycling among manufacturers and others. The obligation to collect and recycle equipment after being used rests on the manufacturers in each member nation of the European community.

RoHS directive
Official Name: Directive 2002/95/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 January 2003 on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment
In the WEEE cycle which focuses on recycling, the RoHS directive was enacted to reduce the amount of hazardous substances at the shipment stage, which is an early stage in the profileration process, so as to prevent elecrical and electronic equipment that contain a degree of substances that exceeds the regulated maximum amount from entering the European market.

When a business that uses Noritsu equipment disposes of the product, they must adhere to the following points.
≪Notes regarding products that are applicable to the WEEE directive≫
・Products with a WEEE label are prodcts that are applicable to the WEEE directive.
・Products that are applicable to the WEEE directive are not to be treated as unsorted municipal
waste in regards to disposal.
・When disposing of products that are applicable to the WEEE directive, please return them to the
NORITSU KOKI dealer or distributor that you purchased the product from.
・If you have any questions, please feel free to contact a NORITSU KOKI dealer or distributor.

EU REACH SVHC Disclosure on First Candidate List (October 28th, 2008)
REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals, EC 1907/2006) is the European Union’s (EU) chemical substances regulatory framework. REACH requires Noritsu to provide customers with sufficient information on Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) contained in products in concentration above 0.1% weight by weight (w/w) to allow safe use of the product.
